THE ANYBODY CAN PLAY PIANO APP
At this time the Anybody Can Play PIANO app can only be used with Android systems and Windows. It can be used with a touch screen alone or with an attached midi keyboard or controller (as small as C to C 25 key). This subscription app costs only $1.99 per month with an initial one week free trial and you may cancel at any time.
Anybody Can Play PIANO: The patented product of over four decades teaching very young (and older) beginners. The first song only uses 2 fingers! The ability to count, read, or even speak English is not necessary. A young child can truly use it independently!
Touch SHOW ME, choose a song, and Busy Buzzy Bumblebee shows which keys and fingers should be used.
Touch TEACH ME and begin the step by step process that begins with the fingers of one hand and culminates with both hands playing in contrary motion (each hand doing different things simultaneously). The program functions like an infinitely patient teacher, repeating parts as many times as the user desires.
NOTATION: The ability to read music will be added to this app later. It is important, however, to understand that note reading and learning to play songs should be taught separately when dealing with young children for a number of reasons. (Actually, even adults appreciate this procedure!) However, for those who wish to start learning to read music immediately, EZ Piano Notes is available on Apple devices for $1.99 and can be used with any age. On the "Resources" page there are also "games" for beginning the process of reading musical notation for those who wish to begin that phase immediately.
Schools large or small can now offer real piano lessons to every student ages 3 and older! All that is needed is a tablet or touch screen computer (preferably two-way laptop) with Android or Windows 10 systems. A midi keyboard or controller (as small as 25 key, C to C) can also be attached if desired and used with any computer with Windows 10. Subscription cost is only $1.99 per month.
For younger students “freebies” for reinforcing concepts are available on this site and are continually being added….things like patterning games both on paper and for keyboard(s), tracing, flashcards, coloring pages…the list keeps growing. More detailed information on topics of interest are being added as well. Just go to the Resources page.
Many studies have been made about the benefits of piano study for young children. One such study used two groups of 4-year-olds from the same pre-school. Half received piano lessons and the other half did not. The 4-year-olds with no piano lessons increased their math skills by 50% during a semester - which is normal. The other 4-year-olds with no difference in curriculum except piano lessons increased their math skills by 400% during the same time period! All this just by adding piano lessons!
A child as young as 3 can learn to play the piano at home - even when no one in the family knows how to play the piano! Cost is only $1.99 per month. All that is needed is a tablet or touch screen computer (preferably 2 way laptop) with Android or Windows 10 systems. A midi keyboard or controller (25 key works!) can also be attached if desired (even to a "regular" non touch computer with Windows 10).
“Freebies” are downloadable on the Resources page that reinforce the learning done on the app. They are not necessary for learning to play the piano….just fun things that can be helpful.
PIANO TEACHER USE
Many piano teachers have expressed gratitude for our program. Children who have already begun learning with the Anybody Can Play PIANO app come to studio lessons full of enthusiasm! And…they already have a proper practice habit so lesson time does not have to be spent going over and over a segment of a song. They can practice at home.
Shared or group lessons tend to work well for young children and this app also gives you the means to do these formats. The “freebies” on the Resources page are fun activities easily done with more than one child.
In addition rather detailed information on topics of interest are continually being added to the Resource page. It may be fun to incorporate lessons for young beginners into your studio setting.
