ONLINE VIDEO PIANO LESSONS FOR CHILDREN FROM 3 TO 103!
LESSON TWO
By now you have discovered that each lesson is really several lessons. These first two lessons deal with two important functions: color coding and patterning. Take as long as you need on these two lessons. They will continue to be reviewed in subsequent lessons, but should be learned well enough before going on so the children are not confused. Do activites repeatedly until the children can do them easily.
As soon as the children can play a song on the app easily (REALLY easily!) with one hand, remind them to try to play it with their other hand....or both hands...Level 2 on the app. Also tell them that it is OK to go really slowly when using both hands. Those hands and fingers need a lot of help, so remind the children to be patient with those little hands and fingers because they are learning to do a lot of things they have never done before! How many times have we made both our hands do the same thing at the same time???
Keep playing tapping games with each and with both hands - arbitrarily calling out colors, using the Dot Sheet and also tapping through songs like Tick Tock.
Also remind the children that it is OK to use the key strips if they need them when using the app....helps those fingers to remember where to play.
Have those color coded hands in plain sight in the classroom so the children are looking at color coded hands frequently. Also let the children use the tiny hands when you play the dot game or just play a game by naming a color to tap. Let the children also take turns being "teacher" and calling out the color to be tapped "x" number of times. In every way, try to reinforce that finger color coding. "Can you pick up that color crayon with your blue and red finger? How about with your blue and green finger???"
On the Lesson Two Playlist there are other related videos that can be used. Just use whatever is appropriate.
